Introducing Maurice……the brother of Bruce. While Grenache sits quietly alongside its less famous counterpart Shiraz, we hope it’s not too long before this unheralded legend of the Barossa Valley is recognised.
This release sees a return to the hills of Greenock at an altitude of 315m. This site is cooler at night and allows a longer ripening period, which is perfect for Grenache. A playful aromatic profile that is bright, fresh and fragrant, with strawberry and raspberry fruits mingling with rose petal and amaretto.
The pallet is undeniably ripe, synonymous with the Greenock sub-region, with a density that belies its light, bright, colour. However, there is still a silky elegance to the texture, and the wine is flowing and balanced, with fine tannin fusing the mouthfeel. A beautiful release that should develop confidently over the next 3 to 5 years.
