Legendary UK Chef Marco Pierre White will be in our neighbourhood on Sunday night joining the formidable team from FINO at Seppeltsfield. Marco, is the youngest chef to ever to be awarded three Michelin stars and has mentored Heston Blumenthal and Gordan Ramsay. The dinner will bring all the essential threads of a classic Italian feast. We are very honoured to be a part of this event with the 2016 Izway Aglianico being hand chosen amongst the small selection of wines to accompany the Italian sharing style food.
If you’re not familiar with this grape variety, Aglianico is from Basilicata and Campania in Southern Italy. Eight years ago we made the decision to have this variety planted for us as we thought it would work equally well in the Barossa Valley. Whilst it is a pretty hard name to pronounce (‘al-yah-nee-co’ for the uninitiated), the style and taste of the wine seems easy to appreciate. For the Italian Feast with Marco Pierre White we have bottled the ‘free run’ of the Aglianico which is then pressed and used in Izway Mates and Angelo.
