The wine is named after Craig’s great mate, and our concreter to the stars, Angelo Bertin. After Angelo and his team did such an outstanding job on our winery and cellar door construction, we thought it only fitting to name a wine after him made from an Italian grape variety!
The 2017 shows off the incredible tannins of the Aglianico grape variety. The smooth texture on the palate and balanced acidity makes this wine a prime candidate for wine and food pairings.
A slightly reductive initial nose of gruyere and blue cheese, disrobes with air to reveal pretty, floral aromatics. Lavender and tar and dark violet crumble, combine with licks of liquorice and cardamom.
Powerful, robust, dry, powdery tannin, juicy and fresh mid pallet. Fine, linear profile with a gutsy finish.
